Saudis to drown in Yemen swamp: Commentator

158

Press TV has conducted an interview with Redwan Rizk, a political commentator from Beirut, to discuss Saudi Arabia’s declaration of an end to the military aggression against Yemen.

The following is a rough transcription of the interview.

Press TV: The Saudis have declared a halt to their month-long campaign against the Yemenis but what still remains is the issue of accountability for all those who have been killed, amongst them civilian Yemenis?

Rizk: This is the so-called storm that left Yemen with thousands of people killed especially children, women. This is something similar to what we have seen during the Israeli airstrikes on Gaza. We have seen the same number of people were killed.

It seems that the Saudis have learned well from the Israelis how to kill children, women, civilians, just damage or destroy the infrastructure of the cities of Yemen.

This scenario is not something new but it is new to the Saudis to be involved directly in such a war or to be involved directly in clashes like this. So they have decided to take the devil side at the end just to move their masks to appear in their reality.

Now nothing can be hidden anymore from the Saudis. They cannot just hide anymore behind the scenes lying to the world and force the national committees of introducing themselves as aid workers or they are helpers to the world and they were trying to implement peace to Yemen or to bring peace to Yemen and to enforce some sort of stability to this country.

I believe this is a conspiracy from the Saudis. They took the devil side. Now they are totally out of their mind, because what they have started, they understood that this is something that cannot be continued like that, because it could have been going on for weeks and months without achievements on the ground.

And they know that airstrikes never achieved anything, any targets or any kind of gaining on the ground. So after they have re-evaluated their war, they knew that if they wanted to change the battle ground, the situation on the ground, they should invade and send troops inside Yemen, and they knew that they are going to drown into the Yemeni swamp, which they cannot go out without heavy damages to their structure, to their system, to their country.

And after they have evaluated the consequences, their winning and their losing, they understood well that they are going to lose a lot from invading Yemen and now all achievement they have done in Yemen is that they helped al-Qaeda to spread in some cities of Yemen.

They helped al-Qaeda to be stronger in Yemen because the al-Qaeda group was out of the targets of the Saudi air raids and their coalition.

So what did they do to the country, I believe that they have prepared the ground to some sort of internal fighting, turned this kind of political issues or misunderstanding between the Yemeni groups into an internal war between the Yemeni people and al-Qaeda group, which is going to repeat the same scenario as in Syria.

This is a conspiracy sending in foreigners through al-Qaeda members from all over the world to fight the Yemenis under the sign of liberation of Yemen or the freedom of Yemen and the limitation of power of Houthis and the return of Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi.
