The United Nations and its humanitarian partners launched on Wednesday a response regarding the humanitarian plan in Yemen, stating that it is worth$ 1.2 billion.

The appeal, which was launched in Geneva is considered to be the biggest international appeal in the history of Yemen, which aims to ensure the support of life-saving assistance to some 12 million people in Yemen during the current year 2017.

According to a press release issued by the United Nations Humanitarian Affairs Office in Sana’a, it is estimated that about 10.3 million people are fiercely affected  by the war, and they require immediate humanitarian assistance, including the provision of food, health care, medical services, clean water, sanitation services and protection for survival.

“About 3.3 million people, including 2.1 million children, suffer from acute malnutrition, while two million people are still in the case of being internally displaced”, the press release mentioned.

Moreover, the press release pointed out that the humanitarian response plan for 2017 formed to provide assistance to people who suffer from urgent need and to a limited number of people who are threatened by the risk of being in critical need.
